In 500 words or less by June 7th, 2009. Participants must be 16-28 years of age, born in Afghanistan and a citizen of Afghanistan. 1st place and 2 place runner-ups for the Afghan Youth Leadership competition will be announced on June 30, 2009 in the USA and following will be notified in Afghanistan. Remember - submit your entry by June 7th - and be part of Afghanistan's future for good!

AFGHAN YOUTH LEADERSHIP COMPETITION RULES:
Who may enter: Afghan youth, male and female, born in Afghanistan and citizen of Afghanistan, age 16-28 only as of June 7th, 2009. What to submit: Describe in 500 words or less what you think would be an idea, program or project that that you have seen or an idea that if implemented would make a difference and how it would change the future for Afghanistan for good. Include with the description of the idea, how its success would be measured and implementation steps and/or partners.

Requirements:
The idea must be doable and scalable.

Deadline:
Please submit entries of up to 500 words, in English, no later than June 7th, 2009 midnight Kabul time. Entries must include full name, date and place of birth (participants must be 16-28 years of age by June 7th, 2009), email address, mobile telephone number, name of school (if) and program of study and/or employer (if) to info@bayatfoundation.org. Projects concepts submitted to the Bayat Foundation may be implemented in the future through the Bayat Foundation or as directed by a Bayat business or partner(s). Entries become the property of The Bayat Foundation.

Presentation:
The winner will be announced on June 30, 2009 in Washington, DC and the first place award and any additional certificates for honorable mention delivered after this date directly to the winners in Afghanistan.
