Special People with Kind Hearts

Here we highlight some special people who have touched the hearts of those of us volunteering at the Bayat Foundation. It’s unselfish acts like the ones featured below that gives us hope and encourages us to be there to act as a connecting bridge between the people in need in Afghanistan and those who are willing to share with them.

Yasamin and Akbar Suri
Asalam Wallaykam,
My brother and I had sent our birthday and Eid money as a donation to Afghanistan because we felt bad for the children in Afghanistan who's lives are in a everyday hardship. On Ariana TV we saw pictures of how much economic struggles there are in Afghanistan, and we wanted to help the children so that every night they go to sleep under a warm blanket and there stomachs full. Sincerely,
         Yasamin and Akbar Suri
We, at the Bayat Foundation, are very proud of Yasamin and Akbar for giving up something that they had saved for and instead donated their savings to the Bayat Foundation to be delivered to those children and families in need in Afghanistan. Their act of kindness is commendable and we at the Bayat Foundation truly appreciate their generosity towards the children of Afghanistan.

Ibrahim Alamshahi and Zaynab Alamshahi

For winter aid program, Ibby raised about $1300 and Zaynab raised about $500  for their birthdays.  They celebrated their birthday with friends and family, but in lieu of birthday gifts, they asked for people to bring donations to the families in need in Afghansitan and since 2007, each has a family that they sponsor in lieu of a birthday party.  Below are the letters that Ibrahim Alamshahi and Zaynab Alamshahi  wrote to their guests.

Ibrahim’s Letter to birthday guests:
December 23, 2006
Dear family and friends,
My name is Ibrahim Sayed Alamshahi. Thank you for coming to my birthday and for helping me raise money to donate to the Bayat Foundation to help children in Afghanistan. I am nine years old and I want to give my birthday money to help poor families in Afghanistan. I am doing this because God will be happy and you should help also. When I watch Afghanistan TV, I see many poor children that look like me and my sister Zaynab. But they don’t have what we have. And that is nice parents and loving families who care about them. They don’t have toys, shoes, clothes, food, warm home with roof, water, and blankets to keep them warm. They don’t have nice rooms like we have here in America. I decided to give something of mine to those children so they also feel loved. Whatever money I get from you, I am giving all of it to the Bayat Foundation. I hope one day when I become a doctor I will go to Afghanistan and help people feel better. I thank Bayat Foundation for helping us to support poor families in Afghanistan. God will be happy and will give us more in return.
We, at the Bayat Foundation, are so proud of kids like Zaynab and Ibrahim. To think of others and share their birthday gifts with other children in need at such a young age is truly admirable. On behalf of the people in Afghanistan and the Bayat Foundation, thank you.

Haris Farhad and Morwarid Walizada
Mr. and Mrs. Walizada and their daughter Morwarid and her finance Haris Farhad.
When Haris Farhad and Morwarid Walizada became engaged, they asked their guests that in lieu of engagement gifts for the couple to donate money to those in need in Afghanistan. After the engagement party, the couple mailed the donations that were collected to the Bayat Foundation. It was especially touching to see the special envelopes that were pre-sealed and addressed to orphans in Afghanistan.
We, at the Bayat Foundation, congratulate the couple on their engagement and thank them for their kindness and generosity.

Zainab Attai
During the May 2009 “Help Save an Afghan Mother and Child” walk-a-thon in Virginia, Zainab donated her time and contacted all of her friends and family to donate to the Bayat Foundation’s mother and child project. Because of her efforts, Zainab was able to raise $4,800 in sponsorships for the 2.5 mile walk. Zainab was given a plaque and special recognition by Ehsan Bayat, founder of the Bayat Foundation, at the end of the event.
Great job Zainab! We truly appreciate the time and effort you put into raising funds, and raising awareness and advocating for the women and children in Afghanistan.
